Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment to everyone.

Open to all

Our martial arts club is dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for people of very diverse backgrounds and ethnicities: Black, Asian, Eastern European, LGBTQ + vulnerable women, girls, and individuals in Barnet area and surroundings.

We aim to help them achieve confidence, and learn various self-defence skills, raise awareness within the martial arts community and advocate for greater inclusivity, serving as a catalyst for positive change.

VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls)

We offer multiple self-defence classes for female victims to violence and abuse. This is a safe environment to learn and feel empowered and take control of their lives.

Since 2018 we have tailored women only martial arts, Tam The/Tai Chi, self-defence and boxing classes.

Our training and coaching are meant to equip participants with tools to reframe negative experiences, build skills, fitness, resilience, and foster positive mindsets.

LGBT+ inclusive classes

Our inclusive and diverse martial arts club has welcomed members of LGBT+ community, of all ages and skills levels since 2009.

Martial arts training can boost self-confidence and self-esteem, helping LGBT+ individuals feel empowered and more assertive in all aspects of their lives. Engaging in martial arts improves physical fitness, which can be particularly beneficial for transgender individuals seeking to align their bodies with their gender identities. Learning self-defence techniques can enhance personal safety, especially for LGBT+ individuals who may face a higher risk of harassment or violence.

Our workshops and training emphasise discipline, focus, and stress relief, contributing to better mental health for participants who may face unique challenges related to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Our teams and community foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie, offering LGBT+ individuals a supportive community of like-minded individuals.

BAME

We believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity – and that’s why equity is one of our core values. We strive to prevent discrimination in our groups and the wider community, so that everyone feels welcome and at ease.

Within our teachers, instructors and students we have and always had divers and inclusive teams, and we count over 35 nationalities, all ethnicities and religious backgrounds.
